Taskmoby is the first Ethiopian digital marketplace that connects customers to qualified home service providers (e.g. plumbers, cleaners, electricians, security), leveraging a mobile application, SMS/USSD solutions and a dedicated call center.
Founded by Ezana Raswork, Taskmoby offers timely, efficient and cost-effective services on-demand. Its home service providers are vetted from Technical and Vocational schools and they bring in years of home service experience.
As an award-winning startup, Taskmoby is committed to combating unemployment in Ethiopia, where 70% of certified plumbers struggle to find work. In collaboration with the Job Creation Commission of Ethiopia, it aims to generate 100,000 new jobs by 2025, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Taskmoby is one of 50 startups in Africa selected for funding by Google for the Startups Black Founders Fund. Google has allocated $3 million to the fund, providing non-dilutive cash investments of up to $100,000 per startup. Additionally, recipients receive Google Ads and Google Cloud credits valued at up to $220,000, along with mentorship and technical support.
