Ethiopia Is Emerging As A Global Offshoring Destination

Offshoring is when a business moves some of its operations overseas to reduce costs and access a larger pool of skilled people.

As labour cost continues to rise in India and the Philippines, countries like Ethiopia are emerging as alternative destinations for offshoring, especially due to low labour costs and the high availability of trainable talent.

Ethiopia is the second most populous nation in Africa, with more than 200,000 students graduating each year with a STEM degree. Talent cost is on average 15x cheaper when compared to western countries, and very competitive when even compared to South Africa.
